As I was doing my normal morning routine which consists of reading the various articles in my Google Reader inbox, I came across a story from the Yahoo! Sports rumor-mill
Author Mark Miller was reporting about the San Diego Chargers and their attempts to use cornerback Antonio Cromartie as trade bait to potentially acquire a running back to fill the void that will be left by LaDainian Tomlinson’s inevitable departure. For those of you who are having a hard time remembering, it was just two years ago that Cromartie tortured opposing quarterbacks, leading the NFL with 10 interceptions. It was during the 2007 season that he was also named to his first Pro Bowl as well as garnering his first All-Pro selection. In the two seasons since then, Cromartie has registered just five total interceptions. (2 in 2008, 3 in 2009)
After Mark Miller was done discussing the prospective targets for Cromartie to land (Dallas, Green Bay) he offered this tid bit of information.
Moving elsewhere may also help Cromartie find new friends to have children with as well. He currently has seven spread over five states and has had a number of paternity suits filed against him in recent years. “
Completely irrelevant to the topic of the story, but my guess it that Miller wanted to try his hand at simplistic, “too-easy”, comedy.
Well done, Mark.
