Todays First Obligation: Get Ready for 4:30 PM

As of 4:30 PM Eastern Time today you have no obligations to the people around you.

However, if you decided not to watch the Bengals versus the Jets I would not be offended, considering it is the worst game out of the four this weekend.

If you are like me and are trying to find anything something good about this game there is always the Chad OchoCinco – Darrell Revis storyline. There is also the “What has happened to supposed top 5 “quarterback Caron Palmer? storyline, and then there’s “How much long can Jets’ continue to hide their unimpressive rookie quarterback from the big stage?”

The last scenario really bothers me. The Jets’ have no business being in the playoffs, really, none at all. Their last 5 games pitted them against two teams who are picking in the top 10 in the 2010 NFL Draft (Buffalo, Tampa Bay), They beat a Colts’ team that was winning until Jim Caldwell pulled his starters and watch Curtis Painter destroy their undefeated season, and then last week against the Bengals, they came out strong against a team that had already clinched a playoff spot and didn’t play their running back. It’s joke when you a look at it. The only game they lost in their last 5 games was a game in Atlanta, a team who was fighting for the playoffs at a time, and that game ended 10-7 with Mark Sanchez throwing three interceptions.(surprise, surprise)

That’s another thing !

Who can honestly say they were impressed with Mark Sanchez this year? I understand he’s a rookie so he gets a pass on some of the things he does, and it gets said a lot, but not enough, how much his running game really helps him out. When Ben Roethlisberger was a rookie, he attempted 30 passes in his first playoff game (and won), while having a very good running attack. Since it’s the obvious correlation to make, because Rex Ryan was apart of the Ravens last year, look for the Jets’ to use Sanchez much like the Ravens used Joe Flacco. Let the running backs pound the ball, and hope to God that their rookie quarterback does not have to shoulder the load.

On the Bengals side of the ball, how effective can Cedric Benson be against the run defense of the Jets’? Can/will Chad OchoCinco make any impact against Darrell Revis? If not, Andre Caldwell and Laveranues Coles will have to step up their games and contribute to help out Carson Palmer who has been unimpressive for a good portion of this season. If the Bengals defense stops Thomas Jones and Shonn’ Greene, then get a couple quick scores of their (nearly impossible versus the Jets’ defensive, it’s wishful thinking, I know) then the Bengals have the clear cut advantage.

Tell the girlfriends, wives, and mothers to back off come 4:30 because as of that time, you answer to no one.
